Dak Prescott has led the Dallas Cowboys to three straight wins and has looked mighty good in the process. Tony Romo could return to action Oct. 30 following the Cowboys’ Week 7 bye, but the question is, should he? It may depend on how Prescott performs against Cincinnati this weekend and at Green Bay the next, but the Cowboys have to be having this discussion, right?

Apparently not.

“I wouldn’t say it’s discussed pretty much at all,” Cowboys safety Barry Church said on CBS Sports Radio’s The Doug Gottlieb Show. “People understand that this is Romo’s team. He’s been the veteran. He’s shown to be able to do all the things that we need for our quarterback to do to win. Everybody pretty much knows that this is Romo’s team, but Dak’s doing an unbelievable job in filling in. As the season progressed, we’ll see what happens, but as of right now, everybody pretty much knows this is Romo’s team.”

Prescott has completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 1,012 yards and has five touchdowns (three pass, two rush). He’s also been sacked just six times. Fellow rookie Ezekiel Elliott, meanwhile, leads the NFL in rushing with 412 yards and has three touchdowns.

“Oh, man, they’ve been unbelievable,” Church said. “The way they’re able to control the game with our running game and keeping us off the field, keeping us fresh, (has been great). Last year, I felt like we were out there for 70, 80 plays every game. This year, the max number of plays we’ve played, I believe, is like 62. So the way our offense is controlling the ball, it’s unbelievable. Their time of possession is pretty much crazy. We’re fresh when we go out on the field and we’re able to play a better brand of defense than we did last year. Now we just got to focus on taking the ball away.”

Prescott, it is worth noting, is yet to throw an interception.

“He’s been doing an amazing job of not (doing that),” Church said. “He’s pretty much taken what the defense gives him. He’s not forcing the ball to anybody in particular. He’s spreading the ball around great. He’s not trying to force the big play on anybody. He’s just doing what he has to do, being meticulous down the field. That’s what we need.”

The Cowboys (3-1) will go for their fourth straight win this Sunday against Cincinnati (2-2). The Bengals are coming off a 22-7 home win over the Dolphins and will have had 10 days to rest and prepare for the Cowboys.

“It’s a super challenge,” Church said. “They’re one of the top offenses in the league. You got a poised quarterback, a proven quarterback, back there in Andy Dalton. You have two different styles of runners. You’ve got a guy in (Jeremy) Hill that can pound your defense down and then you got a guy in (Giovani) Bernard who can flex out like a receiver and catch the ball off screens. He’s an amazing back when it comes to the open field. Last but not least, you got A.J. Green out there who can catch almost every 50-50 ball, has the speed to do an over route and take it the distance. So there are plenty of variables that we’re going to have to deal with when we go against them. Hopefully our defense is up for the challenge.”

Kickoff is at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Church also weighed in on the drama surrounding Odell Beckham Jr. While many NFL analyst believe that defensive backs are simply getting in Beckham’s head, Church thinks it goes a little deeper than that.

“I don’t think it works that simple,” he said. “I think Xavier Rhodes had a really good game against him. I don’t know if he really got into his head. I think Odell was just more frustrated with how things we’re going with the game. But guys are getting a good read on him as far as doing a lot of double coverage. So I can see him getting frustrated at not getting the ball as much, but I don’t really think guys are getting in his head.”
